Rapid Remediation & Rework Loop

Target Audience: Quality Director, VP of Operations
Core Value: Zero Escapes & Brand Protection

The Problem: The "Shadow Factory"

Rework often happens off the books. Repaired units are put back on the truck without re-inspection, leading to "Escapes" (defects reaching customers).

The Solution: A Closed-Loop State Machine

I architected the Rapid Remediation & Rework Loop, acting as the factory's Emergency Room. It enforces a workflow where a resolved issue triggers a programmatic "rewind" of the unit's status, forcing it back through QC.

The Commercial ROI

  1. Zero Escapes: Achieved near-zero defect escapes on reworked items.

  2. Reduced Rework Time: Centralized dashboard allowed experienced finishers to prioritize and clear the queue efficiently.

  3. Root Cause Data: Built a database of defect types and fix effectiveness for continuous improvement.

Technical Architecture

  • State Machine Rewind: Engineered logic that resets a unit's status to Pending QC upon repair resolution, forcing re-inspection.

  • Visual Context: Passed evidentiary photos of defects directly to the repair view to eliminate ambiguity.

  • Atomic Sync: Used writeBatch to synchronize the Issue Tracker and Production Dashboard, ensuring consistent status across the enterprise.
